S66..HMM TO BE FOUR-GOTTEN?

Written by TEAM BOBYN at 05:27 28/10-2023

After the euphoria of S65 it was back down with a bump for S66. Having spent the vast bulk of the season in D4 TB flat-lined with just 8 results and zero wins. Just losing out in the Comrade Cup in the final race doubled the pain.

   In summary:

   Pts: 367 (- 370pts - ouch !)
   Division: 6 (F) (-2 Divisions)
   Rank: Ukraine 2nd (-1 place)
   worldwide 380th ( - 186 places)
   Team Value 2.600m (- 13k)

Rider of the Season: Agafon Korablin (Rank: 1400th, Ukraine Rank 6th)

   Fans Favourite - Spartak Kozlovsky (1970th (+2378places))

   Personnel & Tactical Changes

Yenotov and Volkov will retire and both will resume coaching roles. No major changes in team direction with Zhuravlyov as Captain (but being ably supported by Belgian De Peuter who is promoted from the Youth Academy while Kozlovsky will lead the Sprint elements as Vice Captain. Arshavin will cover during absences and when they TF as Rusanov will likely to called upon to lead in many of the Ukrainian races and Korablin will be called upon for SP-TQ-FR level headers.

   International:

Bitter dissappointment for UKraine's national team as they just miss out on a Comrade Cup Title. TB made a solid contribution.

A number of TB riders were heavily featured and Zhurovlyov was also to contribute to the National Teams points. including Korablin (2 caps and a PB 42nd), Zhuravlyov (5 caps and a PB - 5th), Kozlovsky (2 caps), Dmitriyev (2 caps), Volkov (2 caps), Rusanov (1 cap), Dolzhikov (1 cap), Polishchuk (1 cap), Lyutov (3 caps), Medvedev (1 cap), Yunga (1 cap), Zhivenkov (1 cap), Chupov (1 cap)

TB's Uzbek riders - Arshavin picked up 1 cap and Bogun picked up a debut - and a PB to boot with a creditable 15th)

U23 - With most of the last year's successful TB U23 side being elevated to the senior squad this season the overall performance dipped. But that being said there were some notable successes including for Korablin (2 podiums & 3 places) , podium for Medveddev and places for Bogun and Kashkanov,

  Ukraine Honours

Not so good on home soil this season with the existing records were not threatened. INdeed no points were scored in the three UKrainian races we participated which was particularly dissappointing.

   Current Records

   S62 D4 2nd Lviv - Stryi Rusanov
   S56 D4 10th Pidhirne - Zhuravky, Spearman
   S66 D5 5th Chernivtsi - Ostrytsia - Lyutov
   S66 D6 WINNER - Prylukivka - Novopylypivka - Lyutov
   S64 D6 3rd Kovel-Kovel - Rusanov
S54 D6 3rd Stachanov Street Race, Nathan Trourbaugh

   Tours & Cups

TB participated in 3 tours with a debut at the Edmonton and some incremental improvments in the others. Kozlovsky and Andreyushkin shone at the Minutemen and Korbalin was able to pick up a place in the Giro. Overall not bad...in contrast to the rest of the season.

   (i) Be top ranked Ukraine Side (S66- Fail )
(ii) Bring in some new Ukraine teams (S66 - maintain still 3 teams)
(ii) Finish in D4 - get some exposure to D4 (S66 - Partially Met)
   (iii) Target 3 x wins.(S66- 0 wins - epic fail)
(iv) Participate in at least one tour, improve on one of best performances.(S66 -exceeded)
   (v) Increase Team value to $2.7mk (S66 - $2.6mk met target (2.6))
(vi) Participate and progress stats in any UKraine race that becomes available (ultimate aim to win all Ukraine's 12 races). (S66-fail)
(vii) Finish top 7 of the FSU sides. (ranked 13th in S66 - Fail
